Welcome to the Zach Goodyear Photography Blog!

I regret to say that after 8 great years, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Zach Goodyear Photography. It's something I'm still passionate about, but with a growing family and my main career and love of real estate, I am running out of free hours in the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to contact one of my fellow photographers who are great: Rich Kalonick or Ryan Dunnewold.

If you are looking for a portrait photographer, please feel free to contact Sandy Burr.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Katie and Scott!

Katie and Scott tied the knot 2 weeks ago and I have some fun photos to share! Scott and Katie chose to see each other beforehand which provided for some awesome pictures. Whenever my clients choose to see each other before the ceremony it's always such a great moment.

The ceremony took place at First United Methodist Church in Lebanon. The reception was held at Cedarvine Manor, which used to be the personal home of Scott's grandmother.

It rained on us pretty much all day, but to Scott and Katie that was just a little liquid sunshine because they brought out the party and tore up dance floor until late in the evening! Just when it looked like it couldn't get any more fun, Scott jumped on the mic to belt out some M.C. Hammer. He had everyone in stiches. What a show!

Here is a slideshow to give you a 3 minute glimpse of the wedding day in pictures. Below that are a few of my favorites. Enjoy and Congrautlations Katie and Scott!

Therese and Kevin's Engagement Session

I spent a few hours yesterday afternoon with Therese and Kevin whose wedding will be in a couple of months. We went to Radnor Lake and then to the Bicentennial Mall where they hang out a good bit. We had a great time and got some great shots! Here are a few of my favorites.

Bridal Shoot with Jenny

I did a Bridal Shoot with Jenny, a beautiful bride-to-be, on Friday. It wasn't without a few glitches. It rained all day and the forecast said it was going to continue. She and her mom flew into town for the shoot, so there wasn't an option of rescheduling. Her make-up artist had something come up and couldn't do her make-up. And finally, her mom rented a full-size car when she booked her ticket, but the car company only had compacts left when she arrived which made fitting her dress inside quite difficult.

Luckily, she had some good Karma going for her and everything ended up working out great. The weather held off and we were able to get some great ouside shots. She went to MAC cosmetics in the mall, bought some make-up and had their artsits put it on for her, and the cleaner that had steamed her dress after it was shipped to Nashville didn't want it to be squished in the compact car, so he was kind enough to load the dress up in his van and drive it to the church where we did the bridal session and refused to accept a tip.

Here are some of my favorites. You can see the rest and order prints by clicking here.

Sweet Sophie

Our friends Jenny and Paul just had a beautiful baby girl named Sophie. She's just shy of 3 weeks old in these photos. She was great to work with. Jenny and Paul have me on board to chronical the entire first year, so you'll be seeing more of baby Sophie in the coming months!

Here are my favorites. The one at the end of Jenny by herself with the baby in the nursery may be one of my favorites so far for 2009. To see the rest and order prints, click here.

The best cheeks yet!

I did a shoot on Sunday for my longtime client Belle and we added in her new cousin Taylor. Belle has grown leaps and bounds since I last saw her a few months ago and was full of personality. I must say, Taylor has the best cheeks that I may have ever seen on a baby! Check 'em out in the sneak preview below!

To see the rest of the shots, click here. Belle will be back soon as she's about to turn 1 and we have her 1-year photos on the books!
