Welcome to the Zach Goodyear Photography Blog!

I regret to say that after 8 great years, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Zach Goodyear Photography. It's something I'm still passionate about, but with a growing family and my main career and love of real estate, I am running out of free hours in the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to contact one of my fellow photographers who are great: Rich Kalonick or Ryan Dunnewold.

If you are looking for a portrait photographer, please feel free to contact Sandy Burr.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Belle Turns 1!

Belle hit the big 1 year mark recently and she's cuter than ever! We spent some time at Centennial Park where she started out being a little shy, but warmed up quickly. We hung out in the gardens and fed the ducks. Both grandmothers came by as well. All in all, a good day! Here are a few of my favorites - how about those eyelashes! The rest can be seen here.

Baird-Stone Wedding in Sewanee

Erin Baird, who grew up in Sewanee and went to the University of the South, contacted me several months ago to tell me that she was getting married at All Saints Chapel in Sewanee and was having a reception at her parents house on the Mountain. I knew this would be beautiful, but I was blown away with everything! All Saints chapel is one of the most beautiful churches I know, so I love shooting weddings there. For the reception, they decorated an old barn on their property with an amazing assortment of flowers, food, and lights. It was stunning. Despite the rain, Erin and Ned couldn't have been happier! Erin, her mom and her twin sister were inseparable, so I have a feeling Ned will be hanging out with the ladies quite a bit now that they're married! :)

Here is a slideshow of some of my favorites. Click on the Play Button (triangle) and wait a minute for the slideshow to load. It goes quickly, but you can browse through the images after the show.

Margaret and Gabriel Engagement Session

If you live in Nashville, you know that it hasn't stopped raining in 2 weeks. I'm starting to feel like a Seattle Photographer. My engagement session with Margaret and Gabriel was touch and go until 30 minutes before when we decided that a little rain wouldn't hurt anyone. Luckily, the skies stayed quiet for a few hours, just long enough for us to get some great shots.

We had coffee, when shoe shopping, bought some vegetables (Gabriel is a chef), conversed with some pink flamingos, and had a beer, all before noon. Not bad for a Thursday! I'm looking forward to their wedding in Sewanee this October. I know it will be a ton of fun.

These guys are a fun couple! Over coffee, they told me about how they met - in middle school - and about their tragic middle school break-up which was done by one of the future bridesmaids. Clearly the difficulties of middle school romance weren't enough to keep them apart. After college, the reunited and here we are!

Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot. The rest can be seen and prints can be ordered here.

Baby Charlotte turns 3 months old

Last week I met with Sarah and Derek to get some 3-month photos of their beautiful girl, Charlotte (you may remember them from the newborn session here). The first photo made me smile because when I walked into the house and she saw me, she wasn't sure what to think. I saw that lip turn up and I knew the tears were coming soon! But, it was sweet to watch them calm her back down and made for some great photos. Soon enough, she was all smiles and we had a great shoot!

Here are are a few of my favorites. You can see the rest and order prints by clicking here.
