Welcome to the Zach Goodyear Photography Blog!

I regret to say that after 8 great years, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Zach Goodyear Photography. It's something I'm still passionate about, but with a growing family and my main career and love of real estate, I am running out of free hours in the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to contact one of my fellow photographers who are great: Rich Kalonick or Ryan Dunnewold.

If you are looking for a portrait photographer, please feel free to contact Sandy Burr.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Caroline at 6 (and a half) Months

The shoemaker's kids really don't have shoes and Caroline definitely gets the short end of the stick sometimes when it comes to photos. But, before she finished her 6th month, I decided (or Martha kindly suggested) that it was time for some pictures. So we spent about 10 minutes yesterday snapping a few shots.

I am still in love. From her bald head to her

Caroline at 9 Weeks

Here are a few updated photos of Caroline, who tunred 9 weeks old this past Wednesday. Yesterday I put her in a beautiful little dress given to her by Craig and Lizzie (thanks!). I'm pretty sure she thought it was quite nice hanging out on the front porch in the rocking chair. :)

She is getting pretty good at head control allowing her to stay sitting up in places where she is wedged in a little and is just starting to be able to lift her head up well enough to look completely forward when she is on her tummy (this may not be an official milestone in the eyes of baby science, but from a photographers point of view, it's a big step and allows for a new look). The smiles are also coming a little more frequently which is great. Here are a few shots from yesterday. All posts with Caroline in them can be seen here. Enjoy!

Caroline at 3 Weeks

Caroline just hit her 1 month mark, but I'm a little behind on photos for her. Here are some from when she was 3 weeks.

A few more shots of Caroline

We took a few family photos yesterday. Martha's mom helped snap some shots of us. One of them I especially love - she looks at me with these big baby blue eyes and it just melts my heart.

We had a few friends stop by, so I wanted to get some quick shots of them holding her as well.

I also snapped a couple of iPhone photos of the what the house looked like when we came home (thanks to friend and neighbor, Russelle), and another shot of sweet Abbo with his new little sister.

It's a Girl! Caroline Elizabeth Goodyear's first few days

I can now say I'm a father and it feels great! Martha gave birth to our beautiful daughter Caroline on Wednesday morning. I couldn't be more proud. Over the last few days, we've had no sleep, but have had so much fun it shouldn't be legal.

You'd think I would have taken a ton of photos by now, but these are the main ones...I'm holding more dirty diapers and the camera, but once that gets more routine, I'll be sure to take more.

For now, you can see her from an hour after she was born to 4 days later including some happy Grandparents, her first bath at home, and Abbo, our dog, who is in love with her and follows her everywhere we take her, always keeping watch.

I can't say enough thanks to my wife, Martha, for putting up with 10+ weeks of bedrest and all of the hard work, pain, and sleepless nights she has endured to get to this point. She is a trooper!

If you have called or emailed for photos of your family over the last few days, I will return them soon! As you can see, we've been a little occupied, but are loving every second of it!
