Welcome to the Zach Goodyear Photography Blog!

I regret to say that after 8 great years, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Zach Goodyear Photography. It's something I'm still passionate about, but with a growing family and my main career and love of real estate, I am running out of free hours in the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to contact one of my fellow photographers who are great: Rich Kalonick or Ryan Dunnewold.

If you are looking for a portrait photographer, please feel free to contact Sandy Burr.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Thanksgiving with the in-laws in Chapel Hill

We are spending the Thanksgiving weekend in Chapel Hill, NC with my wife's family and having a wonderful time! Plenty of family, food, and much needed relaxation. My mother-in-law just picked up a tiny new kitten (named Stevie) from the local animal shelter and it is clearly the center of attention. It's amazing how fast they grow when they're this age - it is bigger than when we arrived 3 days ago!

Powell Family Portraits at Cheekwood!

Yesterday I met up with the two Powell boys and their mom at Cheekwood for some great fall portraits. The rain was threatening, but luckily we finished moments before it started coming down. This was my first time meeting the family and these guys have lots of energy! It was a non-stop adventure of chasing them around the Cheekwood gardens. They had a ton of fun though and it shows in the photos. Here are a few of my favorties that show what good friends these guys are.

Fall Family Portraits at Edwin Warner Park

I did another shoot last week at Edwin Warner Park for Gena and Russ and their brand new baby. Luckily, we caught some good color and tearless moments.

Family Portraits at Edwin Warner Park

Last week I did a shoot for a Pam & Patrick and their daughter at Edwin Warner Park. It was a little overcast, so we didn't have much time for good light, but we got some nice shots for them to use for their Christmas cards as well as a few other fun ones.
