Welcome to the Zach Goodyear Photography Blog!

I regret to say that after 8 great years, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Zach Goodyear Photography. It's something I'm still passionate about, but with a growing family and my main career and love of real estate, I am running out of free hours in the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to contact one of my fellow photographers who are great: Rich Kalonick or Ryan Dunnewold.

If you are looking for a portrait photographer, please feel free to contact Sandy Burr.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Published!

I was contacted by Phyllis Hoffman Celebrate Magazine a few months ago asking if they could feature one of my Fall weddings in their upcoming Fall 2010 magazine. They wanted to showcase the beautiful wedding of Mary Knox Merrill and Matthew Miller in Sewanee, TN.

Take a look! A PDF of the article can be seen here.

Carrie turns 9 months old!

I met Carrie at her Grandparents' house the other day for her 9 month photoshoot. We had a great time playing in the yard with the dogs, crawling around the house, and even jamming out some tunes on the piano! The photo of her in the rocking chair cracks me up - I feel like I'm back in elementary school and just got in trouble with the librarian. Look at that face! More samples are below and the rest can be seen here. Enjoy!

Megan and Drew's Wedding Photos

A couple of weeks ago I had the great opportunity to work with Megan and Drew and shoot their absolutely STUNNING wedding! They were referred to me by another client of mine, Neel (mother of Carrie), and have been really fantastic to work with.

They were married at Brentwood United Methodist Church and the reception was at Richland Country Club. The flowers were like nothing you've ever seen (thanks to Terry White of English Garden) and the dance floor never stopped moving thanks to The Pat Patrick Band. There was even an suprise ice sculpture of Megan's dog, Berrie! The delicious cake was made by Megan's sister, Lindsay, who owns Fiddlecakes, an incredible bakery in Nashville.

All in all, it was a magnificent evening and hats off to Megan's mom and to Beth Cyprus at Richland Coutnry Club for working so hard to coordinate everything and pull off a spectacular event.

Enjoy the slideshow below to get a quick taste of the wedding day. The rest of the photos can be seen and ordered by clicking here. There is a folder that contains all of the images from the wedding day labeled ALL IMAGES and 4 other subfolders (with blue boxes) that just separate those images out to different times of the day for easier veiewing.

Renee and Zac tie the knot!

I'm running a little behind on photo postings with so many back to back weddings this summer, but I wanted to share with you a gorgeous wedding I shot a few weeks ago for Renee and Zac. They were referred to me by fellow Nashville photographer Evan Baines and they were a fabulous couple to work with! Not only were they fun, but their wedding party deserves some major props as being one of the wildest and most fun I've had all year! Just watch the slideshow and you'll see what I mean...good times!

Below are a few favorites from the day along with a slideshow. The rest can be seen and ordered by clicking here. Enjoy!

Nathan turns 3 months!

I met up with little Nate and his family last week to get some 3 month portraits of him. He's a great big guy already and can even hold himself up in a chair on his own which is pretty impressive at this age! A few favorites are below and the rest can be seen here.

Ellie and Lowell's Engagement Photos

Before I left town for the 4th of July, I was able to slide in an engagement session for Ellie and Lowell whose wedding I'm shooting in September. We started out in Hillsboro Village at Jackson's, which is where they first met (on a blind date!). We had a couple of drinks, then we wandered around the Village for a little while before heading out to pick up their dog and go to Percy Warner Park (they have a beautiful German Shepherd that is a retired Military Working Dog and is great to be around!).

We had a great time at Percy Warner and enjoyed a nice sunset and gorgeous weather all around. They are a great couple and I am definitely looking forward to their wedding in September!

Some of my favorites are below and the rest can be ordered and seen here. Enjoy!
