Welcome to the Zach Goodyear Photography Blog!

I regret to say that after 8 great years, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Zach Goodyear Photography. It's something I'm still passionate about, but with a growing family and my main career and love of real estate, I am running out of free hours in the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to contact one of my fellow photographers who are great: Rich Kalonick or Ryan Dunnewold.

If you are looking for a portrait photographer, please feel free to contact Sandy Burr.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Meet Virginia

As the Train song goes, She's Beautiful! My friends Christy and Hays just had a baby girl named Virginia who my wife and I got to see for the first time on Memorial Day. She's only 3 weeks old, but already has a great little personality. We went over to their house for a Memorial Day barbecue and I brought the camera to catch a few shots while she was awake. I'll have to do a formal session later, but I wanted to post a couple of this cute little girl while I had them.

Bridal Portraits for Nicole

I drove to Winchester, TN today, about an hour and a half southeast of Nashville, to do a bridal shoot for Nicole. She looked stunning! We met up at the church where she and Derick are getting married and had a brief scare. While walking down a dark hallway, I (the wedding photographer who is usually SO overly careful about bride's dresses) had a momentary lapse of depth perception or something and caught the end of her dress with my shoe. All I heard was a rrrrriiiippp and everyone froze. My heart stopped, I thought I had just torn off the train of her dress, but after a thorough exam of the dress by 4 people, we decided nothing major had torn, if anything at all. So we were relieved and went on shooting!

Nicole, here are some of the shots. I'll post the rest on my site later. Enjoy!

Lucy and Mike's Wedding at Cheekwood

I shot a wedding for a fantastic young couple last weekend at the lovely Cheekwood. Lucy and Mike must have done a rain dance, because it apparently rained within 5 minutes of us throughout the day, but we never saw a drop, so the outdoor wedding went off without a hitch.

Lucy and Mike are honeymooning in California wine country, so I'm a bit jealous, but I figured I'd post a few of my favorite photos so far for them to get a sneak peak.

More to come soon!

Braam Family Portraits

I met with the Braam family on Sunday to do some family portraits with their two children who were so awesome! They had never hired a photographer before and didn't want the "smile in the studio" type shots, so we had a great time getting lots of candids of the kids playing and the family having fun in their gorgeous yard! We tried to incorporate some of a new swing set that their grandfather had just given them as well.

Here are a few teaser shots from the session. Here is your slideshow. You can see all of the images (and order prints) here. Thanks so much for having such great kids! They were too easy shoot.
