Welcome to the Zach Goodyear Photography Blog!

I regret to say that after 8 great years, I have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Zach Goodyear Photography. It's something I'm still passionate about, but with a growing family and my main career and love of real estate, I am running out of free hours in the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please don't hesitate to contact one of my fellow photographers who are great: Rich Kalonick or Ryan Dunnewold.

If you are looking for a portrait photographer, please feel free to contact Sandy Burr.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Sewanee Wedding Photography: Ceci & Billy's Christmas Wedding!

The weekend before Christmas has been a popular time for weddings the last 2 years in Sewanee. It's actually a really beautiful time of the year to get married. People are in a great mood and feeling festive with Christmas right around the corner, so why not tie the knot and throw a great party!

Billy and Ceci have been dating forever and were a lot of fun. Ceci graduated from Sewanee and wanted to make that her wedding venue (good choice, I must say). The weather couldn't have been better (and it was even relatively warm in the sunshine) and the ceremony and reception decorations, thanks always to the magificent Ken Taylor, were outstanding. Plus, of all days to get married, it was also Ceci's Birthday!! I couldn't think of a better birthday present.

The morning of the wedding day there was a brunch at the Merrill's home in Sewanee - it's hard to top starting your day with gorgeous views from the bluff. Ceci was getting ready in a delicious looking house in the Monteagle Assembly. She and her sisters and bridesmaids headed to campus to get ready.

Billy and his groomsmen wore tuxedos with great red tartan bowties and cumberbunds which definitely made it feel like Christmas. All Saints Chapel was still decorated from Lessons & Carols and night fell early. Before long, the time came to walk down the candlelit aisle of All Saints.

The reception was held next door in McClurg Hall where everyone danced to the Pat Patrick Band. Hot cocoa and warm cookies came out at the end of the evening just before sending Ceci and Billy off with party poppers and into an old Rolls Royce.

The full set of photos is can be viewed here. Enjoy!
